Elijah Dela rosa

Co-President

Elijah is a fourth year BA political science, and law and society student. Elijah has been involved with UCMCS for four years, and had the privilege of competing in the 2023 Osgoode Cup. Previously he was Vice President of Operations and Finance of UCMCS. This year, he is beyond thrilled to continue his legal journey as UCMCS' President. He will continue to grow UCMCS' community by fostering accessibility, camaraderie, and fun within legal spaces. Elijah looks forward to how his future in law takes shape! 

Holly Innanen

Co-President
Holly is a Political Science Honours student entering her fourth and final year at the University of Calgary. Serving as VP Operations and Finance, Holly is responsible for managing the finances and operational logistics of UCMCS, as well as planning club events. Holly hopes to pursue a career in law and is planning to apply to law school this year. She is particularly interested in the intersection between law and politics. This is Holly’s first year with UCMCS. She is excited to get involved in mooting as a way of developing skills essential to the field of law, including improving her public speaking abilities and knowledge of the law’s application. Holly is also looking forward to meeting like-minded students and supporting the club’s continued growth.

Orin Zaman

VP Training

Orin is in her final year of studies in Environmental Science with a Minor in Psychology. She is returning to her role as VP Training for UCMCS, where she previously had experience in leading workshops, and wishes to diversify the UCMoot experience! Before her involvement in the UCMCS Executive Team, Orin represented UofC in the Osgoode Moot Court Competition, making her well-versed and experienced in the highest levels of Canadian undergraduate Moot Court.

Azrina Hossain

VP Training

Azrina is a second-year BA Political Science student. As VP of Training, alongside Orin, Azrina oversees the delivery of a moot curriculum including oral advocacy, legal research, and public speaking. Azrina has experience mooting in the 2024 Osgoode Cup. She hopes to expand the club's presence on campus and share the art of mooting!

Youland Ammanuel

VP Community Engagement
Youland is a fourth year Political Science student with an interest in international law and global affairs. As co-Vice President of community engagement, Youland will aid in the planning and execution of events to engage fellow students in the UCMCS and build positive relationships that last between members, students, and organizations. As it is her final year before graduation, Youland hopes to help the University of Calgary’s moot team to be seen as more than a club, but a place where students from different universities and educational backgrounds foster connections and create lifelong memories. Youland is most excited about presenting new events that the club has never planned before… So stay tuned!

Alyza Pacheco

VP Community Engagement
Alyza is a third-year Political Science student with a passion for immigration law and advocacy. As Co-Vice President of Community Engagement, she is dedicated to creating inclusive and empowering spaces through the UCMCS by helping plan events that bring students together while fostering meaningful connections with organizations across disciplines. With firsthand experience in the legal field—having interned at Crash Lawyers—and a growing network in both law and the arts, Alyza brings a unique perspective to the team. Beyond academics, she is also an actress and model with credits in commercials, television, short films, feature films, and theatre. Alyza’s long-term goal is to become an immigration lawyer and be a voice for those whose stories often go unheard. She is especially excited to introduce creative and dynamic events that amplify student voices and broaden the reach of the club. Be ready!

Roro Zarrouk

VP External
Roro is a second year Law and Society Honours student. As VP External alongside Divakar, she creates and maintains relations with external organizations and individuals relevant to the culture and experience of the club, including law firms, lawyers, law students, non-profits, and more. Roro is excited to be enhancing the club’s presence on and off campus, aiding others in discovering interest in the legal realm and emphasizing the importance of understanding legal terminology beyond the practice of mooting. Passionate about the Canadian justice system, she focuses on public municipal law and its effectiveness, and is especially committed to supporting survivors of domestic violence, advocating for stronger legal protections and accessible resources for vulnerable communities. She looks forward to helping peers develop legal skills along the way and expanding the UCMCS community beyond the university.!

Salma El Qasmi

VP Communications
Salma is a fourth -year Law and Society student who takes interest in law pertaining to medical malpractice and patient advocacy. As VP Communications, Salma is responsible for UCMCS's brand imaging and marketing, as well as connecting the club with UofC's student body. Salma informs members of UCMCS and others on the club's relevant news andupcoming workshops, as well as curate fun activities integrating our shared interest in moot and Law!
